The #1 Question I Ask Everybody

Number_1 It doesn't matter whether:

  • Your child has ADHD or not.
  • You suspect your child has ADHD.
  • You are convinced your child has ADHD.
  • Friends & family think it must be ADHD.
  • Or if you are starting to wonder what it is?

No matter the circumstances or events going on - I ask everyone this 1 question.

The answers to this one question can reveal so much about who you are, who your child is, and what is really going on.

So what is that one question, you ask?

"What else might be going on?"

Surprised?  What seems like a simple enough, run of the mill question can help you in so many different ways.

Did you know the symptoms of ADHD are similar, if not exactly matching to, at least a handful of other psychological disorders, medical problems, and real life stuff?

For this very reason alone, it is so critically important that we step back and ask ourselves this one question.

Think about this for a little while...and think of what you might be able to come up with?

Next time, I'll talk a little bit more about why this one simple little question can mean the difference between being diagnosed with ADHD and not being diagnosed with ADHD.

Parenting Children Of ADHD

Frustrating You come in my office or I see you in the waiting room, and you are completely exhausted.  Your hair is a mess, your face is flush, and you can barely keep your head up.  It's only 4PM, and you look as if you have been awake for 2 days.  Maybe, just maybe, you have been.

Being a parent is tough enough, but parenting a child with ADHD can add just a little extra spice to your day - the kind of spice that can leave your mouth on fire for days on end.

It's hard enough trying to keep up with the day-to-day demands of meeting deadlines, and getting things done at work.  Yet, your day never ends...  There's never a moment's rest, and you are constantly putting out fires.

Where does my life end?

And where does her life begin?

Can I just have one afternoon to myself?

One afternoon, with no call from school, and no outbursts through the door - spilling into the living room.

Let's face it.  Most parents of children with ADHD (and this includes children of all ages, because it never ends) are left out to hang and dry by themselves.

Mounting pressure from teachers...  Treatment meetings...  Trips to the psychiatrist...  And almost every where you go, it just builds up.

You never know what will happen next.

If this describes you - or comes close - you are not alone.  Together, we are going to be spending quite a bit of time talking about parenting and ADHD.

I want to invite you to roll up your sleeves, and sit down with me to really address what parenting your ADHD child really involves.  We are going to look past the behaviors - the finger pointing, and the name calling.  We need to address the root cause of what is happening to each and every one of us.

But most of all, we need to hear solutions that work for us.

How to become an ADHD Coach

Since I mentioned on my blog that I am now a Senior Certified ADHD Coach I have been getting people contacting me asking me how to become an ADHD Coach. The truth is that there is not just one way to become an ADHD Coach. The most popular way is to go through an ADHD Coach training program. The ADHD Coaches Organization has a listing of ADHD Coach Training programs. From there I suggest researching the programs to find out which ones best fit your needs. I know that the ADD Coach Academy offers free introductory teleclasses about how to become an ADD Coach too.
